Questions and answers
What hosts ask us most often
Do I have to give up Booking.com or Airbnb?
No. You stay on the portals, and the app works with them. Bookings from them come in automatically, and with the Plus plan, prices and availability are also sent to them from one place.
Do I have to be a client of the BILVAO accounting firm?
No. Anyone can use the app, and anyone can keep your books - you give your accountant access or send them an export to Pohoda. If you wish, you can choose BILVAO when you sign up, and we will assign you an accountant who works directly in the app.
How do invoices to guests work?
The invoices are issued by your company in its own BILVAO online accounting (online.bjucto.sk) - the app prepares them there and issues them automatically on the day of departure. For the first few days you can keep them in test mode and check them before you let them go live.
Does the app handle the guest register and reporting foreign guests?
Yes. Guests fill in the online check-in, which produces the guest register and, for foreign guests, the form reporting their stay. The app alerts you to anyone who is still missing or has not been reported.
And the local accommodation tax for the municipality?
Yes. You enter the rate under your municipality's ordinance (VZN) and the exempt guests; the app counts the person-nights and prepares the figures for your report. Guests can also pay the tax by card in advance.
Where does the money from card payments go?
Straight to your Stripe account, and from there to your bank account. BILVAO does not hold guests' money. Stripe deducts a transaction fee according to its own price list - we recommend not switching on the voluntary Stripe Climate contribution.
What if the AI gives a guest a wrong answer?
The AI only answers from the information you fill in about the apartment. Where it has no answer, it promises nothing and passes the question to you. It never handles discounts, cancellations or complaints on its own. To begin with, we recommend “draft” mode - you see and approve every reply before it is sent.
Can I switch from another system? What about my history?
Yes. You upload your booking history from a Booking.com extranet, Airbnb, Smoobu or Previo export (CSV). That way you have statistics and year-on-year comparisons right from the start.
Can the app handle a guesthouse with several rooms of the same type?
Yes. A room type has a number of units, and availability is calculated for the whole type. Rate plans (e.g. with breakfast), seasons, minimum and maximum stays, and arrival and departure restrictions are set on the room.
How are my data and my guests' details protected?
The data is stored on servers in the European Union, the connection is encrypted and access is separated by role (host, accountant, owner, cleaner). We store neither copies of ID documents nor payment card details. The processing is governed by a data processing agreement.
We have more than 10 apartments. What will the price be?
For 10 or more apartments or rooms, we prepare a custom price based on the number of units and what you need - including the set-up and the data transfer from your current system. Write to us using the contact form.
Can I cancel my subscription?
Yes, at any time. With monthly payment, nothing ties you in for a longer period. You cancel your account right in the app, and download your exports before you do.
Which languages does the app work in?
The app is in Slovak, English, German, French, Czech, Italian and Polish. The guest page is also in Hungarian. The AI translates guests' messages in a foreign language for you.
